In 2018, we teamed up with local nonprofit CONAPAC to launch an innovative program to provide families living in rural Amazon river areas with fruit trees and training in their planting and care. Assistance with marketing efforts are also underway so that harvest will provide both nutrition and revenue for families whose income is often less than fifty U.S. dollars a month. The project will promote conservation efforts by planting more trees in areas that are vulnerable to deforestation.

Trees will be planted at schools and community centers as well as distributed directly to families. Harvests will help provide quality, fresh nutrition to local families and the trees will fight climate change and provide habitat for wildlife.

Through this program, FTPF has planted dozens of orchards filled with hundreds of fruit trees & provided arboricultural training for tribal communities all across Turtle Island.

Keau'ohana Forest Reserve on the Big Island is the largest and most intact rainforest remaining below 1,000 feet in Hawai'i. FTPF is partnering with Hawai'i Environmental Restoration to protect and restore this unique ecosystem through the propagation and planting of native tree species such as the 'ohe. This precious forest is a natural treasure, and the last of its kind -- with your support, we can continue to plant native trees there for future generations to benefit from!

The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation is excited to launch our first-ever orchard projects in the United Kingdom! FTPF will be working with British tree-planting groups to plant orchards in underserved neighborhoods, schools, and other publicly-accessible locations in England (with the hope to expand to the rest of the UK in the future). We will be focusing on urban orchards, turning under-used spaces into vibrant oases of greenery, community, activity, and, of course, fresh and nutritious fruit!
