As members of Leadership Initiatives' [LI] International Internship Program, high school students Harshita, Vivian, Nikhil, Joshua, and Simapreet have been working with LI to research and learn about public health crises in Bauchi State, Nigeria. To transform lives, the team & LI are working to create a public health campaign to raise awareness and educate the people of Bauchi on these various public health issues.

Help cover expenses for the Vista Hermosa Center, which serves approximately 150 older-than-average students who have left poverty, gangs and dire circumstances to get an education and technical training.

Research* shows that 3 out of 4 children are unable to attend school regularly due to hunger and malnutrition. Foundations Pabellon con Arepa and Oportunidad y Futuro have partnered to buy groceries and ensure they are efficiently used by school pantries in La Vega, one of the poorest sectors of Caracas, Venezuela. Good Sense Dogs wishes to continue our work with the most under-served and in need pets, pet owners and pet lovers of the Sacramento Valley. Our four programs help to make Sacramento a kinder place for both animals and people alike. We provide assistance to pet owners who need help caring for their animals, educate groups about pet care and ownerships who do not receive the information elsewhere, rescue and rehome animals in dire situations, and make therapy dog visits to seniors and the poor

TLC made the big announcement in the beginning of 2020 that we would be moving our home to a safer location. Not too long after this the coronavirus pandemic hit the world with full force and has been a big stumbling block to our plans. Thankfully, through this campaign & a handful of private donors we raised1/2 of our target. The other 1/2 was offered on a loan agreement. In order to settle this loan within the next 3 years, we still need R1,4 mil (about $95 000) to fully secure our home.

Leadership Initiatives (LI) approaches the problems of underdevelopment by empowering communities to address their own needs. LI partners with local government and business leaders to provide promising individuals with entrepreneurial, leadership and project management training. These young leaders then identify obstacles to development within their own communities, design workable solutions, and create sustainable business models to overcome those obstacles.

Targeting girls aged 10 - 21 years old in Nairobi's slums, Mrembo unveils, restores and builds the inner beauty of girls through sport. The program addresses issues of sexuality, reproductive health and self-esteem with the objective of helping girls make positive and healthy decisions. New for 2013, the initiative will provide vocational training opportunities to the neediest girls to help prevent the kind of economic desperation which forces many into prostitution or abusive relationships.

The School for Justice program is a unique and innovative educational program founded by Free a Girl, giving survivors of sexual exploitation the right tools to change the system from within. The students enrolled in the program, get an education to become the best lawyers, paralegals, police officers, social workers, and journalists in their country, influencing governments and communities to help combat SEC through their work and their personal connection with their communities.

The School is aimed to address 3 challenges through education ( Academics, Life Skills & Culture) and work with the community to bring positive change through progressive learning in local rural communities. The Primary school system will be based on human curriculum designed to support the children from low income families receive an international standard learning experience from Pre-K to grade 5; and will create volunteer teaching opportunities for young people from all over the world.

For more than 25 years Operation Mercy staff have been partnering with others to build hope, capacity, and community to transform lives, including our own. This involves listening, learning, encouraging, coaching, working, and modeling new ways of thinking and acting. It requires long-term perseverance because change takes years to see, Operation Mercy needs partners who will work with us beyond the 12-month project cycles that are typical in the intentional aid sector.

This project will provide supportive services and vocational alternatives to 80 rights-deprived women in the toxic cobalt mines of Kolwezi, DR Congo. Our training will provide women with skills on various topics including on financial and savings-awareness raising concerning associated health risks, informing their human rights. To address the lack of protective equipment, we will distribute safety jackets, helmets, protective gloves, safety shoes for women who must work in the mining industry.
