Change a Life, Educate a Child

Help cover expenses for the Vista Hermosa Center, which serves approximately 150 older-than-average students who have left poverty, gangs and dire circumstances to get an education and technical training.
Impact
The Vista Hermosa Center currently provides 144 children and young adults with the education they need to break the chains of poverty.
Challenge
Most Vista Hermosa Center students hail from the steep hillside slums surrounding Jocotenango, Guatemala. Extreme poverty and gang membership cause many local youth to drop out of school after only a few years. Others never enter school to begin with. The cost of uniforms, supplies, and public school enrollment fees is just too great, especially for families with 7, 8, or more children. Without an education, these young people have little hope of escaping the cycle of poverty they were born into
