Access to clean water is a major issue for the Watha people. Although there is a constant threat of crocodile attacks as well as the possibility of contracting cholera and typhoid, the only option for many Watha is to collect water from nearby contaminated rivers. The Watha Project, working with village elders and volunteers, will construct a fifth well to provide clean and safe water to hundreds of Watha and provide water and health education to all, drastically improving their quality of life.

GRACE Cares, in partnership with our local heroes, will provide educational opportunities to Project Hearts in Baitoa, Dominican Republic, and the Munali Youth Empowerment Program (MYEP) in Lusaka Province, Zambia. In the Dominican Republic, Project Hearts will train women in basic health and medical knowledge in their Community Health Leadership (CHL) program; and in Zambia, MYEP will provide books and learning materials to children as part of their Mobile Book program.

In Baitoa, Dominican Republic, many families suffer unnecessarily from illnesses because they lack access to knowledge & resources that would prevent health problems. Project Hearts (PH) provides health training to local women who then educate families in their communities. The training not only improves the health of their neighbors but also empowers the women as leaders, strengthening the whole community. Since 2013, PH has empowered 49 women, who have improved the health of 1,960 individuals.

Community Finance Guatemala is now the GuateBUENA Association! For more than four years, we have helped Indigenous Maya women learn financial literacy skills and form their own savings groups through Community Finance Guatemala. Now, we need your help to build out the pillars of our work so we can provide these 23 savings groups and more than 400 members with integral education, accompaniment, and entrepreneurial opportunities to support holistic well-being and happiness.
