Mission

TLC's Mission statement 1. To provide a refuge and holistic care for any abandoned, neglected, orphaned, abused or needy baby or child placed in its care; 2. To endeavor to find, as soon as practically possible, a permanent family home for each such baby or child. 3. To raise awareness amongst the general public on the plight of such children in South Africa; 4. Skills development of care workers by training them in the care of babies and children in its care; 5. To Network and co-operate with other similar organizations to the benefit of children in its care; 6. To encourage and educate South Africans on local adoptions, foster care and other placement options with the aim of placing more TLC children in South African families; 7. To strive to find unique and individual solutions to the needs of each child placed in its care.

Bust That Bond, Baby!

TLC made the big announcement in the beginning of 2020 that we would be moving our home to a safer location. Not too long after this the coronavirus pandemic hit the world with full force and has been a big stumbling block to our plans. Thankfully, through this campaign & a handful of private donors we raised1/2 of our target. The other 1/2 was offered on a loan agreement. In order to settle this loan within the next 3 years, we still need R1,4 mil (about $95 000) to fully secure our home.

TLC Children's Home provides high quality care for abandoned and at-risk babies and children. We care for up to 35 children under the age of 3 years old, while we work to place them into a responsible forever family. We have placed over 900 children since 1993. To continue our work, we need monthly donations of US$26,000. You can partially or fully sponsor a child in our care, starting from US$10 a month. It is US$550 a month to fully sponsor a child at TLC.

TLC is committed to upholding the value of quality over quantity. Founded in 1993 to address the serious need for quality childcare for abandoned children in South Africa, we are registered to care for up to 32 infants and children under the age of 3 years old (upon admission). Our vision is to ensure that each child is placed into a responsible "forever family", whilst we provide the best possible care and every opportunity for them to develop to their full potential. But we need your help!
