This project will help the handicapped persons who are living in slums in Trivandrum district, Kerala state. These persons are physically challenged and face poverty and other financial issues. So we are planning to provide wheelchairs and tricycles for these people to do their daily wants and needs. And they can earn income through doing jobs like lottery ticket selling or other small-scale jobs. It will help them to improve their standard of living and stand independently. Don Bosco Veedu plans to provide an after-school tutoring program for the children living in slums in Trivandrum. Children from slums are often neglected by the entire school system. Due to poverty, they don't have access to other study materials too. 'Remedial Education Program' aims to aid children in acquiring perfect grades with the help of quality educators and to also provide additional study materials (guides, etc). We wish to support them to reach new heights and uplift their community. Don Bosco Veedu Society, Trivandrum, is an Indian charity offering a diverse range of services to vulnerable and disadvantaged children, youth and women. The Don Bosco Veedu Society is offering free Chenda (an Indian percussion instrument) tuitions to a group of 17 children living in slum areas, aged 12 to 15. Through this project the Don Bosco Veedu Society is planning to provide free Chendas to the children. Each Chenda costs around 18000 INR. Every year We conduct summer camp for slum children and poor children of the community and at the end of the Summer camp we provide school materials to all the participants as they are from very poor backgrounds and have no means of availing the initial expenses at the beginning of school year in June which is rather high. We also provide the same to identified needy children from the district through our helpline (childline). By your help we will be able to sustain more children in school.
