Mission

THET has been putting health workers at the heart of our work since 1989, improving patient care by forging partnerships with healthcare experts to deliver targeted training programmes in low and middle income countries. Our vision is a world where everyone has access to healthcare, we will achieve this by working in partnership to support health workers across the world. In the past six years alone, THET has reached over 50,000 health workers across thirty-four countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Supporting Health Workers in Myanmar

THET has supported Myanmar health workers for over 7 years. COVID-19 and the recent coup have placed them under unprecedented pressure, resulting in an increased demand for training and information exchange with their counterparts in the UK, particularly in the field of acute and emergency medicine. This project will strengthen the skills of Myanmar health workers and equip them with the tools to continue delivering healthcare to the communities & patients they seek to serve at a time of crisis.

Supporting Rural Health Centres in Ethiopia

THET has been working tirelessly in Ethiopia for almost 25 years, ensuring 60 hospitals and health centres have the staff and facilities they need to provide essential non-communicable disease (NCD) care in rural areas. This project will further build on this work, enabling people suffering from NCDs to receive the care they need. Since the start of the COVID-19, we have expanded this project to ensure that these particularly vulnerable patients can continue receiving NCD treatment safely.
