UBECI's market programme has resumed following 2 years of restrictions put in place to contain the spread of Covid 19. Families have been hit hard by the loss of income as they are have only recently been able to return to work in the markets. This project will fund a further year of the salary of an outreach worker who can now return to work in the UBECI playgroups in the markets of Southern Quito, providing support to 600 working children.

Ecuador has been hit hard by Covid-19 and strict measures have been put in place to contain the spread. Many of the families CENIT supports are no longer allowed to work in the markets and they have lost the little income they were previously earning. CENIT have temporarily adapted the support they offer. They are now helping children and their families by telephone, providing emotional support, health and other advice, homework assistance, and some food provisions where possible.
