Help Mexican Children w/Cancer in Times of Covid19
Story
This project will help low income girls, boys and young people with cancer in Mexico in times of Covid-19, by providing them with special studies, medicines, prostheses and endoprotheses.
Impact
At the end, it will increase the survival rate of the +4,800 users in present remission and +1,200 users in active treatment. 'Where you live in the world, should not determine whether you live in the world.' -Bono
Challenge
In Mexico, child cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death among the little ones. Each year, there are around 5,000 new cases and there is less than 50% of survival rate. Sadly, this translates into one death every four hours. On top of that, Covid-19 has struck a double blow. On one hand, it has made resources scarcer than ever before and, on the other hand, it has put users at even greater risk since they have a condition of immunosuppression.
