Contribute to Long-Term Rebuilding in Haiti
Story
Lambi fund first helped members of peasant groups get food and essentials for their families following the earthquake. Now, Lambi Fund is working with local organizations to build community-led enterprises, provide technical training and to promote Haiti's long term development.
Impact
These efforts will build a solid foundation throughout Haiti for self-sufficiency, improved livelihoods. As communities unite to realize their strength, they become stewards of their own future, innovators, and champions for a stronger Haiti. The earthquake in Haiti was several years ago, but the rebuilding continues. A critical component of building a stronger Haiti requires strengthening rural communities. Our approach in partnership is proven over 25 years of experience. Support our farmers!
Challenge
Rural Haitian Farmers are facing major challenges that are exacerbated since January 2010 earthquake and recently the long droughts. These issues are environmental (erosion, drought, climatic changes); economic (12.5% inflation, 60% unemployment), political (instability (lost of functioning institutions). 25 years of experience in the field has proven that with adequate support, training and education, the rural farmer has been able to make strives amid the extreme conditions and need help.
