Midwest and Southern US Tornado Relief Fund
Story
A deadly tornado outbreak ripped through six US states, including Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee, leaving dozens dead and decimating entire towns. Your donation to this Tornado Relief Fund will help people in impacted communities.
Impact
We believe that organizations that are deeply rooted in local communities are in the best position to provide long-term support for survivors of the US tornado outbreak. By funding the relief efforts of local organizations, donations to this fund have the potential to build stronger response capacity so that these organizations are better equipped to face future challenges. GlobalGiving will provide updates about how your donation was used.
Challenge
More than 100 people are feared dead in Kentucky and neighboring states after a series of unseasonal storms struck overnight on Dec. 10, making this one of the most devastating tornado events in Kentucky's history. Your donation to this fund will provide emergency aid like food, water, medicine, and shelter in impacted communities. Once immediate needs are met, this fund will provide long-term assistance, with a focus on locally led responses.
