Story

This project will pay for at least 150 children with special needs to be professionally assessed and to determine their capacity to attend regular school or school designated to special needs children, the assessment will also assist caregivers, parents and teachers with the necessary information to make informed decisions regarding special needs children and to assist them in becoming self sufficient and capable of performing basic survival tasks.

Impact

Early identification of and response to children with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, environmental factors (including abuse and neglect) which can lead to toxic stress and physical health conditions is very important to any society. The difficulties that children whose special needs are not addressed or who are separated from normative activities because of their special needs often compound the original need and causes long-term problem for parents and society generally.

Challenge

Women with special needs children need to get these children specially assessed by a professional a prerequisite to enroll in school, there is a private special needs center, however the cost is beyond the reach of those single women, who are employed in low paying jobs, we would like to support these disadvantaged parents by paying the assessment fees so women who are mothers of children with special needs may give these children every opportunity to become self sufficient individuals.
