School for 600 children victim of war in DR Congo
Story
The project that Mleci Organisation initiates consists of building 10 classrooms, one office and latrines . We mean a full primary teaching cycle for 600 children victims of war at Kazimia, South Kivu. In addition, we will provide the class rooms with desks, chairs, tables and blackboards.
Impact
This School which is called the "Glenn Paige Nonkilling School" is named after an American professor whose writings have aided nonkilling work in Burundi, the DR Congo and Rwanda. The School provides nonkilling and nonviolence teachings in addition to classic teachings beginning from the kindergarten We plan in 10 years to teach 6000 vulnerable children who will become a source for nonkilling leadership in the Great lake Region of Africa.
Challenge
The war that raped in the Eastern part of Democratic Republic of Congo have led to extreme impoverishment of many people, destroyed the few infrastructures which were there and made many children vulnerable without any other possibility to go to school at Kazimia.Facing those issues, Mleci has initiated a free of charge school for those children at Kazimia by renting classrooms. The matter is that the rent is very dear and the rooms are cramped (tiny).
