DISASTER RELIEF AND RECOVERY
Story
DDEF is a cooperative body that is made up of representatives from faith-based, non-profit, non government, business and other organizations working within DDEF to assist individuals and families as they recover from COVID-19. The goal of the DDEF is to unite recovery resources with community needs in order to ensure that even the most vulnerable in the community recover from the disaster.
Impact
The DDEF will provide disaster case management and recovery initiatives to 100 + sewing Machine, Vans/Riksha. The DDEF will have identified individuals and families with unmet needs in the community and provide them with case management in order to prioritize how those needs will be met by delivering goods, services and funds to meet those needs. Individuals and families will be more prepared for when the next disaster occurs.
Challenge
According to current estimates, some 100 sewing Machine, 50 Vans /Riksha, 2000 poeple food support and 10 territory residents will need Disaster Case Management (DCM) assistance followed by Unmet Needs support of the territorial DDEF. One of the greatest issues confronting the DDEF community is the extensive number of damaged houses throughout the south Bengal still in need of repair. We are scheduled to receive an additional 1000 cases from Barguna by June 2022.
