Story

This project will produce a book of songs to equip teachers and families to help children facing difficulty from everyday struggles, loss or trauma whether they're having a hard day, a hard time or a hard life. The book/CD will help impart hope, build resilience & restore joy. This project is almost ready to put into book form now! Support GITC to chart, record and produce these brand new printable songbooks/CDs for people teaching and caring for children and donate copies for 300 classrooms!

Impact

A song collection lasts forever. Making it available for free will help it travel far and wide. As an online document with accompanying recordings and videos, anyone with access to a computer or smartphone will be able to learn to sing the songs. Once it exists, this collection of Songs for Comfort, Help, Hope & Healing will make a difference for teachers and students everywhere. These songs will stay with students in their memories throughout life, to be sung whenever challenges are great.

Challenge

Safety in our schools is a real concern for children and teachers. With lock down drills and concerns about school shooters on everyone's minds, cyber and campus bullying a reality, our kids have more anxiety than ever before. Add that to the everyday troubles from family stress issues- and for more than half, the impact of poverty- and kids really need a safe, healthy way to relieve stress, build trust & engage creatively for the sake of learning. Teachers need a way to help students thrive.
